David Schwarz

“The Ox” Melbourne football club legend & SEN radio host

Born July 24th 1972 in Beechworth. Moved to Sunbury at age 8 when his dad was murdered and lived there till the age of 21. He was invited to train with the MFC at 14 as he was a standout junior. In 1991 he played his first of 173 games for the Demons missing over two whole seasons along the way with knee injuries. Kicking 244 goals he was later nicknamed the Ox because of his strength and size after rehabilitating from his third knee re construction.

Upon retirement he went into the media working on Channel 7 for five years and SEN radio where he has been the drive host for 11 years. He has a successful trampoline/ entertainment centre in Geelong and is expanding throughout Australia.

He is an Ambassador for Brodie’s Law through the parents of Brodie, Damien and Rae. Growing up without out a father and losing him in tragic circumstances David had to learn very quickly that he was often alone and standing up for one self was often difficult.

“Bullying should not be accepted by anybody and I’m proud to stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. But it’s more than that. It’s about educating everybody so we can live without fear or intimidation.”
